Understand repeated handles in a Shopify CSV
A repeated handle is not automatically a mistake. Multiple rows can belong to one product, including variant or image records. Deleting duplicates without understanding the file can remove information you intended to import.

Identify what each row represents
Look at option and image columns as well as the handle. If several rows describe different sizes, colors or images for the same product, use a workflow that supports that grouping. FeedNeat's current exporter supports one new simple product per row and blocks repeated handles.
Check generated-handle collisions
Two separate products with the same title can produce the same generated handle. If they are genuinely different new products, assign deliberate unique handles using an authoritative distinction, such as a model name. Do not rename grouped variant rows merely to bypass a blocking issue.
Treat duplicate SKUs separately
Handles and SKUs are different fields. A repeated SKU is flagged for review, but changing a handle does not fix an inventory identifier. Verify the supplier's identifiers before deciding which value belongs to each product.
Do not use this workflow for updates
FeedNeat does not inspect your store. A unique handle within your CSV may still match an existing store product. Confirm that these are new products and review the store's import options. The tool cannot certify that an overwrite is safe.
Worked example
linen-apron, size Small linen-apron, size Large These may be variants of one product, not duplicate products to delete.
